The meal was excellent and the very kind waiter (Turkish) contributed to dispel the bad atmosphere caused by the overbooking! The next morning, after breakfast, we moved to the Hyatt. We took the offer as it was late, we were tired and we didn’t want to look around.

The Hyatt staff (in the person of a kind and apologetic young man from Switzerland, Arsenii) helped a lot, but it was nonetheless a nuisance!! As a gesture they offered a free dinner at the Hyatt restaurant. Our booking for 3 nights, for which we had confirmation, was mixed up and overbooking meant that we had to spend one night in a different hotel. It's considered a "non-smoking" property, but there were a few places on the outskirts of the property that allowed for smoking out of the way of others. There are also options for relaxation including the spa, hot tub, hammocks, and quiet places around the property. Our room faced the other hotel's pool/beach area, so we were initially confused as to where our hotel ended and the other began, but it was eventually made very clear. There is the usual fare, along with some nice morning drinks like Mimosas and Bloody Marys. The Shor Bar and Grill is a wonderful breakfast option, with most choices costing between $18-25. The Blue Mojito Bar & Grill is a good alternative if you're looking for something convenient and nearby however, if you have the time to venture outside of the resort, you'll find much better prices and options. The pool is essentially the center of the action, with the rest of the resort sort of existing around it. The pictures on the website are pretty accurate as to the description of the hotel/resort. All in all a beautiful resort that we intend to visit again in the future. There were jet skis, boat rides and scuba diving right at the resort as well as a beautiful spa and workout room available. Both had ample seating and each had a spectacular view of the water. There was live music every evening and two restaurants, one for breakfast and dinner another for lunch.

We stayed one full week and we were never bored. We had room service every day and I requested something extra each day (extra towels, soap, pillows) and our request was filled every time. In addition, we were upgraded to an ocean view which was gorgeous. The room was beautiful with a completely new bathroom, a sofa and chair for relaxing as well as a full balcony where we had coffee every morning and cocktails before dinner every evening. The resort is beautiful although (as befitting a “central city location”) it was not extremely large. I consider myself a rather demanding traveler and cannot see how these individuals can honestly comment this way. Although most reviews are very positive,I have read a few reviews that had a number of negative remarks concerning various aspects of the resort. This was our first exposure to the Hyatt Centric brand which bills itself as “Upper-Upscale Flexible, lifestyle hotels in the center of their destination” and I must say that is exactly what we experienced. We are also Globalists so we come with a rather high expectation of service. My wife and I typically vacation at the Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and Park Hyatt brands in the Hyatt chain, so we are used an upscale/luxury experience.
